MY HOPE

Is there still hope for the Philippines?

Poverty, greed, inequality..the list is endless, we could all talk for hours or type for hours about it, but everyday, when we step out of our doorsteps all of those hit us in the face. But i am not a pessimist. I have high hopes for this country that one day we will try to rise from the mud and make ourselves stand to its own feet. Nobody would dare to laugh at us again by other nations invented name tags on our country such as the land of indolent people, land of helpers, land of slaves and many more name calling that are truly far from reality. the tragic death of those tourists in the manila hostage taking had brought us in the international limelight again. the shameful response of our authority caused much hatred from our neighbor country china. We cannot help but just to accept their negative comments making our ears open for their obnoxious remarks. There would be revenge and clash back but i remain optimistic that sooner or later, the two would make appease and eventually heal its wounds. Let bygones be bygones as the old cliche goes. But i hope this bad dream wont happen again. I just hope also that our people will not be forgetful about that fateful day of sept 27 2009 wherein hundreds of people were drowned caused by bagyong ondoy. a lesson learned is to be caring to its environment. let there be no waste in our sorroundings although this is close to impossible. Let everybody has it own good caused for the benefit of mankind.

Is there still hope for this country? A big YES.

I think what everyone needs is opportunity.

The government needs our cooperation.
A non-governmental organization wants our supports.
A poor needs an opportunity to get a job to provide something for himself and his family.
For every person, faith in God.

  2. I believe so. Maybe a lot of us starts losing their faith in the country as well as in themselves , but as long as there are still people who keeps their faith there's nothing impossible.I just hope that all this negative comments will serve as our "inspiration". Lets prove to them that we are not what they think they are. We are much more than that. We just have to show them what we are capable of.We are known to be cooperative ,hard-working and resilient. Not mentioning our durability. With just this , we can stand with proud face.

  7. Hope, indeed, is a spiritual grace and blessing from God. Not everybody could attain to entertain this sort of emotion for the fear of disappointment. It only follows that, author of this article- "MY HOPE," should be commended for the encouragement he advocates- he's a blessing in his own little way.

  8. yes! there's still a big hope for our country it just needs a more helping hand for it to stand and survive. we should not waste time, we should be awake and ready to fix the problems that our country is facing.
our environment for instance is just one of our mere problems we're indeed living in a very a high tech world which sometimes ruins our mother earth. what should we do to protect her? we should take care of her. it's not the president we should blame, Yes! he's the leader but he can't change the country to a better one alone he is crying for our help.
together let's help our mother earth reincarnate top a better one.

  11. Its hard to bank my hope for the philippines. but there is always hope for the Filipino. Filipinos may change and will always seek what is real, but the majority who thinks otherwise will always prevail.

  12. According to an essay written by a Korean, the Philippines still has a hope.. All we need is love for the country, and I strongly believe in that.. I wish everyone would have a chance to read it. It surely will open the eyes of everyone and will give hope in our hearts.

  14. Yes.. there's still a gleaming hope for this country to survive. WHEN and HOW??...we believe that this country is a paradise in the pacific..we believe that Filipino's are intelligent..we believe that we came from noble ancestors and that we owe the freedom that we are enjoying today on their bravery..but do we believe that our country suffer because of our failure and greediness??? We blame politicians for the rampant corruption in the government..but who put them there?? we always see the mistake of the government and we criticize in an impulse..but let us ask ourself...who is the government, the government is made up of what? and who rule in a government? though it is a cliche what one of the famous american president said is true.." DO NOT ASK WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO TO YOU BUT ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY"..no matter how high our hopes for this country to change if we dont start it within ourselves..that hope will only be a HOPELESS HOPE..This country will survive if people start change in their own and it can happen even NOW.

Think not just bout ourself but for the rest of the people and the nation as well. On what happend on the hostage crisis, we must not be blamed because its an isolated case, were out of it. Just so happened its here on the philippines.

  18. OPTIMISTIC is my middle name. my beloved country doesnt lose hope, people are always in their positive views, especially anew president came and gave hope for poor filipinos. we are blessed through different natural resources, our economy arises. their are still good-hearted filipinos whos willing to help less fortunate people. filipinos excelled in different fields such as sports-pacquiao, singing-charisse, beauty queen ma. venus where this people proves that filipino are more than what they expected. FAITH, HOPE, UNITY is our last resort.

  19. Filipinos are said to be keepers of FAITH, and all we have to do is to never lose grip of it. We have to keep on believing that we are still going to regain the respect that we lost... everything happens for a REASON, we just have to learn our LESSON.

  20. the Philippines have the greatest hope of reaching its full potential as a nation. as a matter of fact it can be one of the most productive countries in asia.. if we will try to remember, during the spanish period the Philippines was called the pearl of the orient because it was the base of the galleon trade.. naturally, if filipinos will only be industrious enough then there would be no problem... but then, the problem lies with the people who are in the position. graft and corruption tends to eat up most of our local and nastional officials... our nsatural reservoir are being pushed to the edge.. the natural resources of the country are being ruined, devastated and extremely consumed. the hope of the country lies in the filipinos themselves... the only lacking factor is change and discipline
